Central Alaskan Yup’ik:
The berries are harvested in the early fall and used in a similar way as lowbush cranberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea). They are eaten plain or cooked with other food. They are also mixed with pike eggs, seal oil and sugar to make a kind of akutaq called qerpertaq.
